In women being treated for breast cancer, mastectomy is advised in some cases. It is a surgical procedure to remove the entire breast.
Suffice to say that having to face the decision of undergoing mastectomy is a truly difficult decision for any woman. However, there are cases mastectomy is the only way that saves you from breast cancer.
These days, after mastectomy, women can opt for mastectomy bras or breast reconstruction – the surgical procedure to reshape a woman's breast. Though the reconstructed or reshaped breasts will look a lot like natural breasts, they don't feel the sensations like natural breasts do.
It's still a woman's decision whether to go ahead with breast reconstruction or not. Surely there are many factors to consider. But if you think and feel that it will all be worth it, then why not? At the end, it is still all up to you.
