Miss Universe 2010: Plastic Surgery Is OK

The 2010 Miss Universe pageant winner Jimena Navarete expressed that she is in favor of plastic surgery, although she has not had any surgeries done to herself yet.

The twenty-two-year old beauty queen admitted this during a recent interview with the Cellestrellas website just before the pageant's coronation night.

The most beautiful woman in the world further said that she owes her figure solely to hard work at the gym, claiming she works out twice a day on a regular basis. While her very busy schedule with the beauty pageant does not spare her much time for the gym, she relies on weights that she was able to pack in her luggage.

While plastic surgery is allowed in the world's most prestigious beauty pageant, the subject has spawned a lot of controversy. Most people frown on finding out beauty queens have had surgical changes done. The former Ms. Universe winner from Venezuela – Dayana Mendoza – has admitted some work done on her nose and chest.

On the other hand, Ms. California USA Carrie Prejean found herself in a dispute over state pageant organizers regarding some money given to her for a breast enhancement procedure.
