Even these days that you can read pretty much everything online (yes, even major papers), I am still into reading the good old newspaper itself. Therefore I signed up for a newspaper subscription where you can also get your favorite magazine.
It is still good that it's the morning newspaper on our doorstep that we look for first thing in the mornings. While you pretty much do everything online, reading a hard copy of your local newspaper is more pleasing to one's eyes. It's pretty relaxing reading the paper while you have your morning coffee.
It doesn't matter anywhere you are in the world, it pays to request for the local newspaper from your hotel room. It's a good way to check out the best dining and travel options in a locality. In my case, as long as the paper is in English, I won't have any trouble finding what I want in a local paper wherever I am in the world.
